CHALLENGE:

Rapid and accelerated growth spells exciting times for business but in reality can be challenging to manage. In the context of a business aggressively expanding their national operating footprint, acquiring new businesses and establishing greenfield sites, the challenge was to identify and source the right talent and define employment frameworks and industrial relations approaches.

SOLUTION:

Formulate and execute a clear and workable strategy to ensure the people aspects of the growth strategy were identified, planned for and delivered.  Specifically People Solutions partnered with the business to implement two key initiatives to successfully navigate the change:

1. Talent

The capabilities and talent required to support the expanded business model and new operations were identified. Tailored sourcing strategies were defined and executed to attract and appoint the best people with the specialist skill set needed for this niche market.

2. Employee Relations

Strategies were developed to manage the terms and conditions and employing entity considerations for the acquired businesses. These strategies took into account the need for scalable and consistent employment offerings to accommodate the new national footprint. Simplified and consistent terms were designed and transition plans executed.

RESULTS:

The business successfully realised its growth plans, achieved performance targets and importantly had the right talent and people strategies to continue to take further advantage of its expanded scale.
